Homestead Park ‘Here is Hope’ Festival

We had fun bringing ‘hope’ to the print room at Homestead park for ‘Here is Hope’. Armed with the trusty and highly portable Adana and a poem by Emily Dickinson, we set up shop in the Pavilion with a wall of bright riso print put up by York Zine Fest as our backdrop. Having set the poem — ‘‘Hope’ is the Thing’ — beforehand across three formes, we printed it in three parts and three colours throughout the day, introducing York’s residents to experimental re-printing and general experiments with print and form. Our highlight of the day was the group of children queuing up for each new colour!

We got to share the print room with Mek Summat, who screen-printed these lovely posters for the festival.
