Black Sheep Vol. II is the collaborative work of the Black Sheep Poetry Collective. In 2025, this was: Tiana Aitken, Becca Drake, Rowan Evans, Chloe Hanks, Gilles Madan, Alex Priestley, Ed Rugg and Mia Scattergood. In this pamphlet, the collective responds to and documents ‘Selby Tony’ (The Artsbarge) on the Foss Basin, York, through site-specific poetry written during a writing day onboard in October 2024. This is an experiment in small press community printing and material eco-poetics, tuning the collective thoughts of poets from varying backgrounds to consider our emotional relationship to precarious landscapes. It asks how we can hold a moment in the history of place tangibly in our hands
The pamphlet is hand printed in an edition of 50 on an Adana 8×5 onboard the Artsbarge, on Somerset Book White 115gsm and Hahnemuhle Bugra Butten 130gsm. It is set in Baskerville 12pt and Times Roman 24pt, with illustrations — ‘Black Sheep’ and ‘Minnow’ — linocut by the Black Sheep Poetry Collective.
